SN54S175: Looking for PSPICE model

Part Number: SN54S175

Where can I find the IBIS or SPICE model for this device?  If there isn't one can you recommend a replacement?

  • Hello,

We don't have a lot of models for bipolar logic -- many of them predate modern computers.

On top of that, this is a flip-flop, which means it's not directly compatible with SPICE -- the digital feedback to provide the 'memory' causes most simulators to fail with convergence errors.

Most modern simulators have a work-around with some kind of digital back-end to enable latching logic, but we don't currently have a set of models available for those.

The best option is to get samples of the device and test on a breakout board -- the commercial version will have extremely similar operating characteristics, so that's the one I would recommend using for prototyping: https://www.ti.com/product/SN74S175
