SN74HC193: PSpice model for the 74HC193 to use with PSpice for TI?

Part Number: SN74HC193

Where can I find the PSpice model for the 74HC193 to use with PSpice for TI?

How do we add it to the libraries?

Thanks

  • Hi Marco,

Unfortunately for some devices such as counters, we do not provide PSPICE models due to them not being able to be simulated correctly.

  • This is surprising and disappointing when we were using logic simulators in the 90's that could do it.

Can't you have a "logic" section in PSpice where the simulator does not worry so much about the internal electrical model but only the I/O characteristics?

  • Hi Marco,

Are you looking for an IBIS model instead? Let me look into this and I will get back to you.

  • Would the IBIS run with the rest of the TI PSpice circuit?

  • No; IBIS describes only the electrical characteristics of the input and output buffers.

SPICE-based simulators model the analog properties of circuits and have problems with digital logic. Some have workaround with built-in logic gates, but there are no counters. You would have to use a logic simulator for that.

If you want to simulate both the counter logic and the analog properties of its I/Os, then you must use two simulators.
