Can you elaborate on what you mean by barrier metal? I do not understand what this is referring to.

A refractory metal film used to prevent deterioration of device performance.

Below is a screenshot of the material information. I believe what you are referring to should be the "lead-frame plating". Correct me if I'm wrong.
