Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74ACT74
Hello guys,
One of my customers uses SN74LS74ADBR for their current products.
Recently, they received PCN of SN74LS74ADBR EOL. The PCN recommends to used SN74ACT74PWR as alternate device for SN74LS74ADBR.
But these 2 devices package type are different. Also SN74ACT74 has DB package as a line up..
At this moment, the customer has the following questions. Could you give me your reply?
Q1.
Why was SN74ACT74PWR selected as alternate device for SN74LS74ADBR in spite SN74ACT74 has DB package?
Q2.
Is the reason of SN74ACT74PWR recommendation that SN74ACT74DBR will be EOLed soon?
In other words, should they avoid SN74ACT74DBR using because the device will be EOLed soon?
Q3.
They don't want to change their current PCB layout.
So could you tell me any other alternative device for SN74LS74ADBR?
Can SN74HCT74DBR be used as a alternate device for SN74LS74ADBR?
