hi expert

i have two question about SN74HC244-Q1.

Q1:about "Continuous output current" and "Continuous current through VCC or GND" parameters,

i saw the explanation in Understanding and Interpreting Standard-Logic Data Sheets (Rev. C)

from my understanding, "Continuous output current" means every single channel of SN74HC244-Q1 have ±35mA MAX current, but the designer should control the total current below ±70mA( "Continuous current through VCC or GND" )

Q2:do we have larger current output capacity device to replace SN74HC244-Q1?

Q1: That is correct.

Q2: Right now, my recommendation is the SN74AC244-Q1. Could you share any more details on your system, such as VCC voltage, or package type?

i am using SN74HC244QPWRQ1 and power is 5V. i am planning to use SN74ACT244QDGSRQ1. what about this?

Hi Jay,

The ACT device does work, however, the AC device is a newer device with a larger voltage range. Generally if you do not need TTL compatible inputs, we would not recommend them.
