SN74HCS74: Datasheet Supply voltage max vs Absolute max

Part Number: SN74HCS74

We have an existing design using a SN74HCS74. The datasheet absolute maximum is 7v, datasheet supply voltage max is 6, our applied can be as high as 6.2V with a few milliamps current limited.

Will we have reliability issues with being over the maximum supply voltage yet under the Absolute max ? Should we redesign this ?

It is below the absolute maximum rating, so the device will not be damaged.

It is outside the recommended operating conditions, so the electrical characteristics or even correct operation are not guaranteed. (In pracice, I don't think there will be much of a problem. But again, no guarantee.)

Yup, we'll monitor for failures, this is in a very slow signal environment, very low power application.
