CD40106B: Could VDD be used at 3.3V?

Hi team,

I would like to know that this PN could VDD be used at 3.3V? if yes, how about the Vmin and Vman value when VDD = 3.3V? if no, do you have any recommended solution can be used at VDD=3.3V?

CD4000 devices are optimized for high voltages. They also work at low voltages, but not very well, and there are no guaranteed characteristics below 5 V.

If you really want to use them, you have to assume that V_IL/V_IH are at GND/V_DD, that the drive strength is 20 µA, and that they are very slow. It would be a better idea to use a low-voltage device like the SN74AHC14, SN74HCS14, or SN74LVC14A.

Hi Jimmy,

Strictly speaking, you can use this device at 3.3V.

However I would recommend the SN74LVC14A instead.
