    The difference is that "SN74LVC1G32MDBV" is not a valid part number.

    "R" indicates that the chips are packaged on a reel; "EP" indicates the -EP version, i.e., SN74LVC1G32-EP. It would not make sense to have a part number without the "R"/"EP" suffixes.
