TXS0101: Request for proposals of alternatives that do not have internal pull-ups.

Part Number: TXS0101
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TXU0101, 2N7001T, , LSF0101

Tool/software:

Is there an equivalent device that does not have an internal pull-up?
Unidirectional is fine, not bidirectional.

The background of my inquiry is as follows,
We want to shift the UART signal voltage from 1.8V to 3.3V at 115.2kHz.
We verified the operation of the TXS0101DCKR, which has a proven track record in our company, but the system stopped working.
After isolating the cause of the problem, it was found that the problem was caused by an internal pull-up.
We are looking for a device that does not have an internal pull-up.

We have had TXU0101, 2N7001T suggested previously, but would like to know if there are other products suggested besides these.

Thank you.

  • Hey Masaki-san,

The TXS0101 has internal pullups as a feature to help save space/ BOM for open-drain interfaces such as I2C/ MDIO due to their driver architecture being open drain based. A similar device to this is the LSF0101 with similar internal architecture to the TXS0101, but since UART signals are generally fixed direction, a fixed direction/ direction controlled translator could be used instead.

If internal pullups are not desired, the translators in this TI Landing page also work to level shift UART signals from 1.8V to 3.3V.

    Jack

  • Hi Jack,

Thank you very much. We look again at the solution.
