Hi, I have to use the SN74LV8154 in order to be able to count unitl 143sec, there is a minimum frequency clock for the SN74LV8154? and for the Counter in general?

    Hi Irene,

    The primary concern for a CMOS counter is not the minimum input frequency but the minimum input edge rate.  As long as you meet the transition rate conditions in the datasheet with each clock transition:

    Then the device will work fine.

    If you wanted, you could have the clock pulse once every year, and the device would keep count (as long as power was provided)
