SN74AHCT1G126-Q1: Different order numbers without explanation about differences

The data sheet for SN74AHCT1G126-Q1 lists only one orderable part number - CAHCT1G126QDCKRQ1. However, on TI's website I find two more order numbers, CAHCT1G126QDCKRG4 and CAHCT1G126QDCKRG4Q without any explanation how these parts differ from each other.

Can anyone give an explanation what the different letters at the end of the order numbers stand for?

Hi Jens,

The datasheet lists the 3 orderable parts in the Package information section. As you can see the difference between the DCKRG4 and DCKRG4Q is that they have different device markings. The G4 missing from the 3rd orderable part has to do with with TI's environmental standards and can be read about more in this FAQ.[FAQ] Why does a logic device's part number have an E4/G4 suffix? There is also a possibility that different part numbers come from different manufacturing sites.

Since all three parts have the same package, they will fit on same solder pads. They are also internally the same and so behave electrically in the same manner, all guaranteed by the datasheet specs.

Hi Karan,

so, if I got you right, ...G4 and ...G4Q are just older order numbers preserved for historic reasons and ...Q1 is the one to use for new designs?

Hello Jens,

Yes G4 has been preserved to allow for the same orderable part number. Q1 does not mean new designs, but yes it does seem to be the newest part number for this device. All the part numbers will get you the same device that behave in the same exact way. It is recommended that you order using only one part number as different part numbers may mean the devices come from different manufacturing sites.

Hi Jens,

There is no specific meaning. All the parts are the same.

The G4 part numbers have just been preserved. And the Q1 at the end of the part number just specifies the part is Auto Standard Qualified.
