SN74LVTH16244A: the input Tr/Tf:113us/V for 16244

Part Number: SN74LVTH16244A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74LVT16244B

Hi team,

My customer is using the device SN74LVTH16244ADGG now. But the input Tr/Tf:113us/V, but the datasheet can only accept Tr/Tf:Max 10ns/V. Do we have some methods to do P2P replacement to solve the problem?

Thanks.

  • Hi Frank,
There is no replacement that fixes this issue.

The correct solution is to fix the signal integrity problem. Why is their input signal so slow?
  • They didn't notice the problem before. The input is from a OD gate. Thanks.

  • That's probably a bigger issue for them since the LVTH has bus-hold circuits on the inputs that will compete with the pull-up resistors required by the open-drain devices.

They will need to either swap the pull-up to a very low value to make it stronger, reduce the capacitance on the trace, buffer the signal, or swap to a non-bus-hold part such as the SN74LVT16244B.  The inputs to this device are still CMOS, so the input speed requirement is still there, but there will be less of a problem because bus-hold is removed.
