SN74HC373: Could you please help confirm the output status when device powers on?

Part Number: SN74HC373

Hi team,

My customer use SN74HC373 to to drive the base of an audion. When our device powers on for the first time, OE keeps low(enable) and LE keeps low(disable), D keeps low. Under above circumstance, what status should the output be, low or uncertain?

If uncertain status, is there any other solution that could make the output be certain?

See [FAQ] What is the default output of a latched device? (Flip-Flop, latch, register).

The only way to get into a known state is to enable the latch (LE high).

Thanks for your reply. Does it mean all the serials of TI latches do not have a default state on power up?

Hi Wilson,
Yes, all latched devices have an unknown state at system startup. This includes counters, shift registers, latches, and flip-flops.
