SN74AUC2G32: Jitter of SN74AUC family

Hi team!
I'm looking for a low-jitter logic "OR".
I found SN74AUC2G32. There isn't any information about jitter in the datasheet, but propagation delay varies in range 700 ps. What does it mean? Is it a normal operating jitter? Or, probably, jitter is much lower and propagation delay depends on temperature? Could you please tell me about a normal operation jitter of SN74AUC2G32 and it's changing with temperature and other factors?

I have the same questions about SN74AUP1T02 (logic "XOR"), SN74AUC1G79 (Flip-flop) and SN74AUC74 (Flip-flop). If you can, please, give me information about jitter of them. I'm going to use two of them in mass production, but I can't do it without information about jitter.

Hi Victor,

Jitter isn't specified or guaranteed by TI for any of the devices you listed.

We have taken typical jitter data on the AUC family of parts showing ~25ps of additive jitter, and ~50ps of additive jitter for the AUP family of logic. I'm afraid that's all the data I have.

Hey Victor,
I would expect AUC to be the lowest because it was designed to be the highest speed logic family. As I previously stated, we don't characterize logic parts for jitter, so I don't have extensive data on this. I just so happen to have typical numbers for the AUC and AUP logic devices.

And one else question from the first message.
What defines propagation delay? Does it depend of temperature? Does it vary from one IC to another? How can I understand, how big propagation time will I have? (There is a range in the datasheet, but how can I understand accurately value?)

Hey Victor,

The actual delay of the device will vary with process (from device to device), supply voltage, and temperature. It's best to design your system to support the full range in the datasheet since we can only guarantee that the actual value will be within that range.

Typically the delay will be lower at low temperature and lower at higher supply voltages - however that's not 100% guaranteed since there are many factors that go into determining the delay, especially in a modern device like AUC that uses staged outputs to increase speed.
