I have a customer who would like to replace their SN74LVCC3245A with the SN74LVC8T245 device.
He doesn't want to change the board layout.
Both devices are basically pin-compatible.
However, the current device, SN74LVCC3245A, has Pin-23 as a NC pin.
But the SN74LVC8T245 device has Vccb for Pin-23, AND Pin-24.
Is it possible to leave Pin-23 floating? Or is this necessary to power a different section of internal circuitry, and leaving it floating would cause undesirable effects?
