CD4521B: Usage of CD4521B

Part Number: CD4521B

I find the datasheet for CD4521B insufficient in understanding how it functions. Is there any other data or application information that will help me understand it better?

Specifically, I am trying to design a circuit that will produce a positive pulse for a length of time between a few minutes and an hour or so. I plan to have a number of these circuits using a common clock signal.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

Greg

  • Hi Greg,

Unfortunately these are legacy parts acquired from Harris that we don't have too much content on. However, if you want to ask me specific questions about the part, I can help you or find the help needed to answer the question.

    Thanks!

  • Generally, you keep the device in reset when idle. When the Q24 output goes high, you go into reset again.

How exactly are controlling the length, and triggering the start of the pulse?

Nowadays, this problem would be solved with a microcontroller.
