CD74HC40105: Shift out queries

Part Number: CD74HC40105

Hello Guys,

Good day.

A customer of ours are using a burst clock at 50 kHz into the fifo and have a few inquiries on CD74HC40105.

1. what is the slowest rate we can used for Shift out?

2. Does the shift out have to be synchronized with Shift in?

3. Shift out clock require a minimum rise/ fall time?

Thanks in advance!

  • Hi Art,

    1. what is the slowest rate we can used for Shift out?

There is no slowest rate, only a fastest rate.

    2. Does the shift out have to be synchronized with Shift in?

Shift out will need to take place before shift in.

    3. Shift out clock require a minimum rise/ fall time?

All inputs for this device require the following as listed in the datasheet:

    Input Rise and Fall Time

    2V . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1000ns (Max)
    4.5V. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 500ns (Max)
    6V  . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 400ns (Max)

    Thanks!
