SN74LS07: Operating Vcc : 4.5V ~ 5.5V, what behavior do you expect?

Part Number: SN74LS07

Hi Experts,

My customer is using this logic with Vcc range from 4.5V to 5.5V due to the bad regulation in the field. This device is specified from 4.75V to 5.25V. What kind of degradation do you expect with this Vcc condition?

Regards,

Uchikoshi

  • The electrical characteristics will no longer be guaranteed.

But nothing really bad will happen. A different VCC will result in different currents through the internal resistors (see below), which can slightly change the switching thresholds, switching speed, and/or drive strength.
