SN74AVC24T245: what is the max clock our device can support?

Part Number: SN74AVC24T245
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90C187, SN74AUC16244, SN74AUC244

Dear team,

My customer needs a 24bits level shifter between CPU and DS90C187, and the Pixel clock of CPU is 177MHz. Can our device achieve below situation? The max clock our device can support is 380Mbps/2=190MHz, right?

Thanks & Best Regards,

Sherry

  • The 380 Mbps value applies to the highest supply voltage.

If we take the maximum propagation delay as a pessimistic estimate of the minimum length of a bit, we get a maximum clock of 1 / 4.4 ns = 227 Mbps.

The fastest logic family is AUC, with more than 500 Mbps at 1.8 V. Unidirectional downtranslation can be done with simple buffers with overvoltage-tolerant inputs; this would need two devices, SN74AUC16244 and SN74AUC244.
