SN74GTL2003: GREF bias current question

Part Number: SN74GTL2003
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LSF0108

Hello E2E,

Could you please guide us how to calculate the bias current on GREF pin?

Customer wants to take GTL2003 to translate between 1v8 and 3v3. Could they follow the connection in figure 6 in d/s?

Sincerely,

Jason

  • The GREF pin is connected to the gate of the reference transistor, so no current flows into this pin. There is a current flowing into DREF and out of SREF; this current is approximately (3.3 V − 1.8 V − 0.8 V) / 200 kΩ.

Figure 6 can be used; the pull-up resistor should always be about 200 kΩ. See the Voltage-Level Translation With the LSF Family application note.

This device can be replaced with the LSF0108. If the signals are not bidirectional, other translators might be more appropriate.
