Customer needs to reduce execution time of a critical portion of application and would like to use TCM for this. Is there an example in SDK showing how to define a memory section pointing to TCM and place a function or a file there? something similar to #pragmas in older compilers. what kind of execution time improvement can be expected in moving code from SRAM to TCM?

TCM takes single R5 cycle per access if the core is accessing its own TCM. The below figure shows memory map for TCM.
