TMDS273GPEVM: On-board XDS110 UART buffer size

Part Number: TMDS273GPEVM

Hello,

What is the UART send/receive buffer size in the onboard XDS110 device of the TMDS273GPEVM?

Is the SOP3_MSS_UARTB_TX signal buffer size 1023 bytes?

Best regards,

Hiroyuki Taguchi

  • Hi Hiroyuki,

    - The UART buffer sizes in the onboard XDS110 are as follows:
It has a Programmable FIFO length, including 1-byte deep operation providing conventional double-buffered interface.

    - The UART Rx and Tx FIFO queue sizes are 64 Bytes in the UART driver for AM273x.

    - When you talk about the MSS_UARTB_TX signal you are referring to the AM273x UART (and not the XDS110 UART right?). AM273x-EVM MSS_UARTB_TX signal buffer would also be 64 bytes in size.

    Regards,

    Shaunak

  • Hi Shaunak,

    Thank you for your reply.

I am referring to MSS_UARTB_TX UART buffer size for XDS110.

    The xDS110 firmware is firmware_3.0.0.25.bin in CCS12.3.0.

    Regards,

    Hiroyuki

  • Hi

You're using the terms MSS_UARTB and XDS110 in the same sentence. It is not correct,

MSS_UARTB is the UART port terminology used in the AM273x MCU i.e., Sitara products

When you say XDS110 it is the emulator device, which is a seperate microcontroller named TM4C129 that is programmed to work as an emulator. This is a common debugger used for all the EVM boards we have.

So, if you want to know regarding XDS110 I will route it to our Tools team, any info required regarding AM273x is already shared by Shaunak in the previous reply.
