AM2434: Flash programming of TMDS243EVM.

Hi Takuya,

The EVM must be in Uart bootmode before running the python commands on the CMD panel. Can you double check the boot mode setting?

Boot mode switch settings are fine.
As my screenshot shows, I am able to download the loader from the UART.
In the case of TMDS64GPEVM, there is no problem, so I think that a slight difference in the circuit is related.

Is "sbl_uart_uniflash.release.tiimage" stored in the following folder available for both boards?

mcu_plus_sdk_am243x_08_06_00_45\tools\boot\sbl_prebuilt\am243x-evm

I have additional information.
The revision of the board changes whether it can be written or not.

PROC101A -> GOOD
PROC101C -> Fail

It is for AM243xEVM board only.

You can flash the image to the flash on PROC101A board, but got failed when programming the file to PROC101C board.

Can you please check the EVM ECN to see if any changes to BootMode DIP switch? The error message in you previous message indicates that the EVM is either not in power-on state or the EVM is not setup in UART boot mode.

I figured out why I couldn't write.
I purchased 5 units of TMDS243EVM this time. and I have only one TMDS64GPEVM from before.
I've attached a picture of each board powered up.
Both switch settings are correct.

TMDS64GPEVM says "Many LEDs are lit.
However, the TMDS243EVM has few lit LEDs.
There is probably something wrong with the 5V power supply circuit.

I opened only two of the five TMDS243EVMs I purchased, but they are both in the same condition.
I haven't opened the remaining 3 because I'm worried.

Have you encountered a problem like this with the PROC101C board where the power cannot be turned on?

Hi Takuya,

It looks like that the VCC_5V0 output of LM5140 is not enabled. All the MCU power supplies (3.3V, 1.2V, etc) are derived from VCC_5V0.

When SW1 is in ON position, the switch is in position 2-3 which in level HIGH. Can you please double check if SW1 loses connection. 

I confirmed that 2pin of SW1 becomes 12V by turning ON the lever of SW1.

And I confirmed that 2pin of SW1 is 12V on both boards.

The SW1 is to enable/disable the VCC_5V0 output of LM5140. If SW1 works as expected, please probe the VCC_5V0 at TP18, VCC3V_SYS at TP44, etc to make sure that the LM5140 has correct voltage output. If LM5140 is OK, please probe other power rails listed in Table 3-4 of EVM user guide:

I checked the voltage on the two boards.
Please check the attached file.

Neither board is outputting 5V voltage.
Does this result mean the board is faulty?
The No2 board is almost in the state immediately after opening.

Is the J38 (Test Automation Header) used? The Test_PowerDown signal from J38 (pin 26) can power down all the circuits.  

Nothing is connected to the J38 connector. Since 2pin of SW1 is 12V, there is no influence from TEST_POWERDOWN.

Hi Takuya,

The components on the EVM are sensitive to ESD. It is recommended to use ESD protection (ESM mat and wrist strap) when handling the EVM.  

The LD24 (VCC3V3_TA, output of TPS62177 regulator) illuminates, so the 12V power rail is fine. I suspect the EVM has a faulty LM5140 regulator.   

I will ask about the board damage problem in another thread.
I can't write to the flash using a working PROC101C.
(PROC101A can be written.)
Could you send me the "sbl_uart_uniflash.release.tiimage" that you used to write PROC101C?
