TMS570LS3137: Spectrum Digital XDS200 not working with TMS570LS3137ZWT

Part Number: TMS570LS3137

I am new to Embedded Development.  I am trying to run a simple program to make the LEDs light up on my TMS570LS3137ZWT and am using a Spectrum Digital XDS200.  I cannot find this specific piece of hardware in the connection dropdown menu.

I have tried selecting the TI XDS2xx USB Debug Probe option but when I try to run the program it just says:

"Error connecting to the target:
(Error -180 @ 0x0)
The controller has detected a target power loss.
The user must turn-on or connect the power supply for the target.
(Emulation package 8.0.27.9)"

Can someone help me figure this out?  I have not been able to find any recent tutorials or forums for this.

  • Hi,

Is it a custom board or any TI specific board?

The initial checks to identify the issue are to make sure that power is indeed supplied to the MCU (both 3.3V and 1.2V nominal) and that the power-on-reset signal (nPORRST) is de-asserted (driven high).

Please let me know the results of the above checks and we can debug further.

  • It is a TI board.  The number/code I'm finding on it is TMS570LS3137DZWT

To be honest, I'm not sure how to check that specifically.  When everything is plugged in one light on the jtag probe turns on and there are some blinking lights on the board.  Once I try running the program, I get the error mentioned above and then the light on the jtag probe turns off and won't turn on again until I unplug and replug it.

  • Hi,

If you are using HDK board then all the power LED's highlighted in below pic are turning ON after giving 12v power supply to the board?
