You can use CCS to do traffic profiling for a debug session without interrupting the application.

thanks for the link to the Traffic Profiling documentation, it looks useful but is not exactly what I need. I looking for something like the CCS feature "Core Trace" which is not limited on the Sitara "ETB" buffer. I want to see every function call/ program counter change.

Benjamin, I believe Lauterbach would have the closest capabilities to what you are looking for.  I would contact them to see what features are supported for the device you are using.  You may find that you have limited trace capabilities since you only have access to a few signals

One possibility is TMDSEMUPROTRACE Debug probe | TI.com.

Another option is Lauterbach PowerTrace III which we have bought for our AM2634 development. We have yet to use it in anger though and you will need deep pockets!

TI will provide Lauterbach scripts upon request.

After a quick, scan I think that you probably need more than 4 trace data connections but am not sure. In any case, I wonder now if the XDS560v2 is the right kit for your processor. AM243x is not in the list of supported processors but, on the other hand, it is not in the list of NOT supported processors.

Perhaps Brennan Hartiganis the guy you need to contact?

My recollection is that in our discussions with Lauterbach, 4 trace data pins was not good enough to warrant buying the trace probes. Have a chat with Lauterbach too. Certainly the UK rep was very helpful and there was no sales pressure, just a discussion of the facts.
