MSPM0G3507: What is the best way to generate a ±1% precision, 1MHz clock on the MSPM0G

Part Number: MSPM0G3507

Tool/software:

Hi All,

What is the best way to generate a ±1% precision, 1MHz clock on the MSPM0G?
Is the only way to divide the ±1% precision, 4MHz external clock from HFXIN?
Is there any way to multiply an external clock to generate 1MHz?

Best Regards,

Ito

  • Hello KZ,

There are three method to generate 1 MHz clock for G series:

1). Use internal 4MHz SYSOSC and PLL but maybe its precision can't meet your requirement

2). Use the external high frequency crystal oscillator (HFXT). it seems to be a better method.

3). Use the 4- to 48-MHz typical frequency digital clock (HFCLK_IN).

You can import an example code of G3507 and see it clock tree to help you understand G3507's clock structure.
