MSPM0L1228: about RST_N

Hi Edware,

Please check whether the PA18 pin is used and is set high during re-boot.

PA18 is the default BSL invoke pin in MSPM0, and if it is set high during POR/BOR/Boot Reset, the MCU will enter the BOM BSL program to wait for BSL command. And the application code will not be executed in this case.

You could try to disable PA18 BSL function by the below guidance.

Do you have idea how to debug that the phenomenon was just happened in our board, I can't see it on EVB.

I think it may caused by PA18 is set high during reset. You could try:

• Check your hardware schematic of PA18 part, to see whether PA18 is used. It should be pull-down by default.
• If PA18 is used or not pull-down, if you follow the guidance I attached in last reply, to disable PA18 BSL invoke function. And then try again to see whether this phenomenon is still appear.

I can see this issue after adding DL_SYSCTL_enableSuperCapacitor() to enable supercap charge. it won't happen if it is commented.

Could I ask your schematic about VBAT pin? Whether it is connected to a large capacity or just floating?

We connected to a large capacity and the Rext is 4.7k ohm.

however, we have added the NMI_handler() but it's still the same. if we change the Rext from 4.7k ohm to 0 ohm, it can be reboot okay.

From my test, the program could reboot well just after I add NMI_Handler definition.

Could you please entry debug mode, and see where the program is stall in after system reset?

And you could also help check the NMI IIDX register .
