AM2754-Q1: AM275x (vs AM243x): R5F CPU to OCSRAM performance differences?

Part Number: AM2754-Q1

Team,
There are some E2E post below about R5F CPU access performance to OCSRAM on AM243x.
-Assuming that comparable benchmarks would be run on AM275x R5F would AM275x score better?
-By how much?

Looking at the datasheets:

AM275x

AM243x

AM261x

32kB cache
64kB TCM (single core)

800Mhz or 1Ghz CPU clk

32kB cache
128kB TCM (single core)

800Mhz CPU clk

16kB cache
256kB TCM (single core)
500MHz CPU clk

500Mhz clocked VBUSM

6MB OCSRAM (6x 1MB)

(+ 2x 2.25MB in C7x core)

?? cycles memory latency

250Mhz clocked VBUSM

2MB OCSRAM (8x256kB)

51 cycles memory latency

(ie cycles wasted per cache misses)

  • 63.75 ns at 800 MHz
    see spracv1 page 7

200Mhz clocked VBUSM

1.5MB OCSRAM (3x512kB)

(but only 2x512kB on VBUSM)

24 cycles memory latency

(ie cycles wasted per cache misses)
-> 48 ns at 500 MHz

-What would be latency to access the OCSRAM?
-Is the AM275x interconnect comparable to the AM24x interconnect? Or are there been some improvements?
-Could you share an AM275x vs AM24x performance ratio when only using OCSRAM (no other core or peripheric used than 1x R5F and OCSRAM)?

-Do we have some app notes for the R5F perf (like AM24x perf - spracv1)?
-Or some benchmarks like in AM24x SDK 11.1 ?

Thanks in advance,

Anber

  • Hello Anber,

Allow me some time to take a look onto your query and internally research / discuss with our AM243x and AM275x internal architecture, benchmark, SRAM experts.

Please expect that some delay 3-5 days in response may be possible.

Feel free to ping this thread on March-27-2026 afternoon if you don't get the query answered by this time.

    We appreciate your patience !

    Best Regards

    Anastas Yordanov

  • Anber,

Unfortunately we do not have comparable data available at this point for AM275 with regards to benchmarking so we do not have a good comparison to share on performance.

    Thanks,

    Chris
