why do we need Uniflash uniflash tool when we can build and run our program on TMS570LS based on CCS v6.0. What is difference between these tool?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH

Hello everybody, I just have used TMS570LS0432 safety development board and I read some page in the internet that we can flash microcontroller by Uniflash. My question is that we already have CCS application that I can use to program and flash for my microcontroller why do we need Uniflash tool? Is there any difference between them? Do you have any good and necessary tutorial to use Uniflash?  Thank you

  • You don't need to use Uniflash. Uniflash is just another tool that lets you program the MCU. It has a much simpler interface than CCS.

If you were going to give someone a tool to program a batch of boards, Uniflash is better suited. It's a smaller installation and there are less options / things that can go wrong. And if someone is nto a developer, but is doing 'production' work work then that is where Uniflash is targetted.
