Can the TM4C129 support eMMC?

I am investigating supporting an eMMC device on the TM4C129. The CMD line and the handshaking involved with DAT0 makes me unsure whether the EPI can be made to support eMMC. Has anyone successfully implemented eMMC on the TMC129 and can give me some pointers?

Hello Yan,

It is not possible to support the eMMC card on EPI interface. It is however possible to use the QSPI interface with software implementation for supporting the eMMC.

Hi Amit,

From my understanding the QSSI on the TM4C129 has 4 data pins, one clock and one frame signal. However, the eMMC requires 8 data pins, 1 command pin, and one clock. I'm not following how they can be compatible. Can you elaborate a little more?

Hi Amit Ashara,

I hope this works, we want to use a Tiva chip as our main CPU. We are looking for a cheap way to connect lots of flash memory to it. eMMC would be an answer but we are looking for a way to connnect it. Could you help?

Amit I have started talking to our local distributor and he is working with our local TI applications engineer. They are not finding anything. Is there an application document number or a way you can inform our local TI person directly?

Hello Amit,

I am also interested in some code for the eMMC connected to the qSSI. In past I have already connected an eMMC to an totaly other mcu. So I have most of the c-code an the documents.
The only thing I need is the qSSI stuff because I never used qSSI on TIVA aside from qSSI plus cmd wire synchronously ...

Is it possible to get some code-snippets about qSSI connected to an eMMC ?
