SAFETI_CQKIT: JTAG ERROR when they are running CQkit

Hi,

My customer is using SafeTI CQKIT trial version.

They are using SafeTI_CQkit_ARM_v1.3.2 and BH-USB-560v2 emulator.

While they running the CQKIT, when there is a test needs JTAG connection, They see this message and can't connect.

ERROR Message: IcePick: Error initializing emulator : (Error -2083 @ 0x0) Unable to communicate with the debug probe

Why is this happens? XDS560v2 works well with CCS.

Check the target configuration file (in CCS). Check the physical connector (could be some issue there).

As this debugger works well with CCS, I think it's not a hardware problem.
Does SAFETI_CQKIT needs .ccxml file also?

Hello Ted，

I don't think CQKIT demo requires JTAG connection to a target. It is used for compiler qualification, and should be independent of the emulator. I will forward your question to our CQKIT expert.

Just to confirm, based on below tool folder:

did they purchase the full QKIT (part number HERCULES_SAFETI_CQKIT) or are they testing the free original QKIT demo (SAFETI_CQKIT_DEMO_WIN)?

The free demo is only intended for viewing the QKIT documentation and is not supported for trying to run the qualification tests.

Also, we have a new QKIT that is free. See part number ARM_SAFETI_CQKIT_RV in above link. I would recommend they use that instead since it does not require them to run compiler qualification tests like the original QKIT. Also, it is free instead of $15k.
