Hi All,
I am not sure how to find a detailed differences between the 2808 and 2809 DSPs. Mostly, I need to prove that using the 2808 from the 2809 does not pose a risk to the design. We currently use a 2809 but we now have a higher temperature requirement that the 2808 can reach. I have looked at the spec sheet and understand the flash/pwm/dac differences as per the following threads, but I need a little bit more information if possible.
Here are the two threads I've found:
Both TMS320F2808 and TMS320F2809 are rated for -40°C to 125°C operation. I presume you are planning to switch to SM320F2808-EP device which is rated for -55°C to 125°C. If you take into account the differences in flash size, ADC speed and number of HRPWM channels as illustrated in Table 6-1. Device Comparison (100-MHz Devices) [page 5 of SPRS230P], you should be good from a firmware point of view. Both devices are manufactured using the same process technology and hence have similar electrical characteristics.
Hi Hareesh,
I think the last part about the manufacturing process is the key point for me! Do you know if there is any documentation on this in the public domain?
Have you signed a Materials declaration NDA? Please respond to my private message.
