TMS320F2808: Appropriate Programmer as replacement

Hi Experts,

Our customer has been using the TMS320F2808 on a product for about the last 15 years.  To program it, they’ve had a Signum JTAG-JET-TMS programmer.  It has recently stopped working, and from what he can tell the driver is just so old Windows won’t load it anymore in any way.  They do need to be able to program this product, so he is looking for:

  1. A replacement programmer that’s recommended for this part (I see the TMDSEMU200-U listed on the website under hardware development, not sure if this is appropriate for this part however) and
  2. The recommended way to upload firmware files using the replacement programmer – a specific IDE, a programming tool, etc, what is the current and appropriate choice.

To clarify, can you please tell us which programmers will work to program this chip? I find TMDSEMU200-U but would this work and be enough? Do we have an App Note for it or something similar? We are trying to understand at this point.  Please help advise. Thank you.
