TMS320F280021: Booting from SCI

Part Number: TMS320F280021

I am looking into the possibility of booting from SCI. I have a few questions.

1) If I set default boot (for an unprogrammed device) to SCI which SCI pins will it use (I am using a 48 pin package)? Since the SCIA_TX and SCIA_RX pins can be assigned to different pins I assume that in an unprogrammed device there must be a default assignment for each but I have not found anything that tells me what those default assignments are.

2) Where can I find a list of the default assignments for all pins?

3) Once the device is programmed and now set to boot from internal Flash is there a way to get it to boot from SCI again (for a firmware update)?

Thanks in advance,

Dave

  • Hi David,

To answer your first two questions, the default pins used for SCI boot are GPIO28 and GPIO29. The default pins for all boot modes can be found in the 4.7.7 GPIO Assignments section.

Our boot-ROM expert will respond to your third question.

    Thank you,

    Luke
