We developed a sw interface to communicate on the USB port of the microcontroller. We installed the dedicated drivers on the Windows OS, but they are not signed from the beginning so at first we were just bypassing the OS protections to install the drivers. Then we signed them by ourselves, because in the SIGNING.TXT file within the package TI supplies, we found some instructions about the possibility for the business company to add its own signature even if it is a third-party product from the start.
We are using the drivers only for internal purposes for the time being, but we would like to share this software with customers as well as the signed drivers to avoid the need for them to bypass the OS protections.
We inherited these files from previous colleagues, and our concern is to assess we possess the right version of the drivers, as well as the updated license which gives us the rights for signing a third-party product without running into any copyright...etc violation.
Where we can find this integrative information and documentation? Did we miss something in the procedure?
