TMS320F2800157-Q1: TMS320F2800157-Q1 JTEG disconnection issue

Part Number: TMS320F2800157-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F2800157

I am using a TMS320F2800157EVM launch pad to connect to a TMS320F2800157 on a motor controller. JTEG is getting disconnect when I go to higher supply voltages from 24V to 48V.

Up to 30V it's working fine but for 48V I am not able to debug JTEG is getting disconnected.

Is there a setting on the debugger that is known to be more reliable in high noise environments? JTAG, SWD Mode, cTag? Or can I change any other settings to increase noise immunity?

I monitored the reset pin XRSn during debugging, please suggest how to resolve this issue

  • Hi Shambhu,

Initially, there is one thing that you can do to help noise immunity of the debugger connection. Default connection on the LaunchPad is cJTAG, so recommend to use 4-pin JTAG. 2-pin cJTAG is bidirectional which can be more susceptible to noise in the system. Refer to the LaunchPad User guide for enabling JTAG which requires soldering a couple of 0-ohm resistors.

    Regards,
