Hi,
my understanding is that all C2000-CGT versions are compatible to all C2000 devices. So I could use an older CGT for a newer C2000 device?
It is just that older CGT not supporting latest C28x features (like TMU, 64bit FPU, ...)?

    If you build everything from source, yes.  But what about C2000Ware, or any other libraries you use?  The version of the linker must be >= the version of the compiler used to build any file or library.  And the version of the compiler RTS library must match the version of the linker. 

    I understand recent versions of  C2000Ware only support EABI.  Support for EABI is available only in recent versions of the compiler.
