do we have any reference design with the ADC16 on the TMS320F2837x or any design rules?

Hi Holger,

There are not any systems kits / TI designs that use the 16-bit ADC that I know of.

The F2837xD Launchpad does have a differential-to-differential buffer for driving the 16-bit ADC.

The reference circuitry on the ControlCard and Launchpad should be sufficient for driving the VREFHI for 16-bit operation.

Hi Holger,

No, the guidelines in SPRAAP6 only apply to TMS320F281x, TMS320F280xx, TMS320F2804x, TMS320F2823x, and TMS320F2833x devices.

The main things to consider are the VREFHI driving circuit and designing the signal conditioning circuitry to be fast enough for the desired S+H duration. Both of these are briefly covered in the F2837x TRM.
