Customer wants to compare the time needed for the below different protection methods:
1) TZ pin(TZ1~3) with protection IO signal input
2) CMPSS protection with analog sampling signal
3) EPWM X-BAR to select IO signal to provide TRIP signal for Digital-Compare of ePWM.
4) External interrupts with protection IO signal input
Could you help give some insight about this? Thank you.
Aki,
I am not sure about CMPSS, but for the other items here is what I think should be the order.
I would choose in this order,
1. Tz
2. Epwmxbar with digital compare
3. Xint with interrupt + code
Tz should be the way to go but dc will provide more flexibility
Nima,
Thank you. Could you help further give approximate time needed for each method? Customer needs a drafted idea for this. Thank you.
Frank,
Thank you. So we still need to know the time from EPWM X-BAR through Digital Compare and Trip Zone modules to the ePWM ouput .
The TripZone/DC module, we only provide a max delay, which is 25ns.
