CCS/TMDSHVMTRINSPIN: ccs error

Hi,

Which version of CCS you are using?  Can you check Windows Device Manager if the emulator driver is installed properly?

Hii sir thanks for the reply.... Is there any special driver for x TI xds100v1 usb, or it comes alaog with ccs, if it come with ccs how we check whether my ccs has this driver or not? Please help me..

CCS installation should also install emulator driver also.

If you are using older CCS, I will recommend to install latest CCS (10.0.0). This will install the emulator package.

Hi,

We have procured recently a Development Kit: TMDSHVMTRINSPIN. We are trying to setup the development environment using this kit.we get the below mention errors,you please help me .

• We connected the Kit to DC power souce and to Laptop using USB port. We have selected as shown in the screen below (Image at Sl#1). Are these selections appropriate for this kit TMDSHVMTRINSPIN?
• When we click on Verify: We get an error ('SC_ERR_FTDI_OPEN') as shown at image Dev Kit Errors.docxSl#2.
• As per the Jtag probe trouble shooting  instrucitons: we chekced the device manager and found that drivers are listed with name: “USB serial Converter A” instead of “TI XDS100 Channel A”.  Image as shown at Sl#3.
• It is  advised in the trouble shooting  instrucitons, we down loaded the XDSserial.EXE. It displayed “Blanck EEPROM”. Image as shown at Sl#4.
• It is  advised in the trouble shooting  to re-program the VID / PID. We downloaded Mprog3.5. We couldn’t find file named XDS100_wUART.ept. But there is a default.ept file (a shown at Sl#5). We have completed Scan and Erase (a shown at Sl#6)
• We couldn’t Program the EEPROM, error: No device found. Pls advide on next course of action.

What is version of CCS you are using?  If you are using older CCS, can you install latest CCS?

Are you using external emulator or onboard xds100 ? 

 we buy TMDSHVMTRINSPIN dev kit along with f2806x control card,we are trying to debug my code using on chip debug emulator,throught ti xds100 v1 usb,but we get this error.

we get usb along with the kit we  connect by using that probe,to debug my code using on chip debug emulator,while selecting the connection we select texas

 instruments xds100 v1 usb debug probe is it correct sir?.. the above are my development kit images

Looks like XDS100 emulator driver is not installed correctly on your System. Please install latest CCS, it will install the driver automatically and lot of bug-fixed since ccs 9.

Thank you for the udpate. We have installed CCS10 as recommended on another computer. But it looks we have some issue (may be Driver issue?)

We got error shown in attached "  dev kit document  " with images . We have 28065 CPU card installed (vertically) on the horizontal main board. So we tried changing the jumper settings as per the User Manual title "  Dev Kit_Motor_TI_qsg_hw_hvmtr_r1p1 ".

1. Without jumper J5, J9, pls see image 1.

2. With Jumper J5, J9: Pls see image 2.

Kindly let us know a good Tech manual to follow for jumper settings and also resolution to the problemDevKit Errors.docx

we procuring TMDSHVMTRIN development kit ,along with that we get f206x,f2802x,control cards,we want to debug a code(LEDblinking)using ccs software .

1.we put below settings in ccs is that settings are correct?(image 1)

2.i have attached the document which we are using for our development kit is that reference manual is suitable for our development kit ,can you please provide the suitable reference manual,Dev Kit_Motor_TI_qsg_hw_hvmtr_r1p1.pdf

3.we are now using TMDSCNCD28027F  control card we don't know its jumper settings can you please provide any document related to that control card jumper settings

4.image  is our connection from pc to development kit

can you please help to resolve this problems

Here is the schematic for the F28027 CNCD.  This does not have an on board emulator, so you'll want to use the XDS100 that is on the devkit as you mentioned.  Per the notes in the document you've attached to do this:

Do use onboard XDS100 emulator when using a standard controlCARD (ex: TMDSCNCD28027F)  no jumper on M3-J5 to enable the HVKIT emulator.

Have you connected a DC supply to M6 to power the system?  We can verify if the control CARD is getting power by observing LD1 on the control CARD.  Do you see this lit?

1. M3 and M6: We have 15V adapter plugged at M6 and a USB cable at M3 (from Laptop). LED is glowing.
2. CCS settings: We have attached document (dev kits)  in Image1, are they correct? 
3. Jumper / Switch settings:

1. TMDSHVMTRINSPIN is loaded with control card TMDSCNCD28027F. We are using Jumper / Switch settings as per PDF “HVMTR Rev 1p1 Hardware Quick Start Guide” (Ver 1.04). Present settings are: Main J3,4,5 Populated, M3-J5 Un populated……. Are they correct? 
2. TMDSCNCD28027F: There are 4 switches are present,we put sw1 position 1 ON,position 2 OFF,and we don't do any changes in reaming switches ,are they correct ?
3.  we put jumpers on  [main] j9  and  [main] j7 middle pin to right pin.we put these connections on our development kit. 

• Windows Drivers: With above Jumper / Switch settings: Device manager drivers as shown in Image 5.

I believe you want to change both POS1 and POS2 on SW1 on the TMDSCNCD28027F control CARD.  POS1 should be OFF(down) and POS2 should be ON(up).  This will place the device in Wait Boot mode and prevent any code from executing and potentially keep CCS from connecting to the JTAG.
