TMDS570LS12HDK: XDS110 debug probe usage with TMS570LS12x HDK

Hi,

I have XDS110 standalone debug probe. Can i use this with TMS570LS12x HDK? Is there a application note or reference document?

Note: I know that the HDK itself has the on board debugger.

Hello Dinesh,
Yes, you can use XDS110 standalone debug probe.
Connector J4 of TMS570LS12x HDK is ARM 20pin JTAG Header where you can connect external JTAG probe.
At device web page ( www.ti.com/.../TMDSEMU110-U ) is shown that ARM20 adapter is supplied with the probe.
You can see TMS570LS12x Hercules Development Kit (HDK) user guide for details on J4 pinout and placement ( http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/spnu568a/spnu568a.pdf ).

Hi Miro,

None of the adapter provided with XDS110 can be used directly with J4 of TMS570LS12x HDK. Do we need to manually connect using wires?

Hello Dinesh,
From what I am seeing here: www.ti.com/.../TMDSEMU110-U the package includes TI 20-pin to ARM Cortex 20-pin converter adapter.
Of course you can make your own following pin mapping.
