MSP-FET: MSP-FET not found in MSPFlasher DETECT scan

Part Number: MSP-FET

I installed MSPFlasher and the FET device drivers in a PC running Win 7 Ultimate.  When I plug the MSP-FET into a USB port, I get the following in Device Manager Ports:

  MSP Application UART1 (COM20)

  MSP Debug Interface

Note that there is no COM number associated with the debug interface.  When I run MSP430Flasher -i DETECT, it fails to find any FET devices.

The green LED on the MSP-FET is on solid, but the red LED never comes on at all.  It seems that the PC recognizes the module, but is unable to communicate with it.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
