MSP430FR2476: libmath missing in MSP430Ware

I am using MSP430Ware_3_80_13_03 on CodeComposer 10.2 for a MSP430FR2476. This device should have a 32-bit HW multiplier and ULP 6.2 remark #10422 also says, that I should add libmath. However the directory ccs\ccs_base\msp430\lib\FR2xx does not contain the math library. Is there a reason for this missing lib?

Hi Klaus,

You could search the libmath.a in MSPware folder and add the path where the file located in to project properties window.

Well, if I use the libmath.a from the 5xx_6xx_FRxx and the libraries from the FR2xx directory, which should be the correct one for my device, I get a linke warning, as MSPMATHLIB_CCS_msp_5xx_6xx_FRxx_... is not found. I could use that library from the 5xx_6xx_FRxx directory instead, but is it the correct one for my device?

Whether you link the driverlib to CCS, this link might provide you some help. Could you please post your code and the compiler description?

Hello Allen,

the driverlib was not the issue. It is the fact, that mathlib.a is from another directory as the runtime library for the FR2476. I was creating my CodeComposer project from a basic FR2476 example. Now I tried the same with FR5739. Here I have seen, that the template just adds both library paths - and it works :)

I tried the same now, just adding 5xx_6xx_FRxx to my library search path instead of copying mathlib.a - and that works. Maybe it would make sense, if in your sample projects you also add this path + library in future releases?
