MSP430FR5729: eUSCI help

Part Number: MSP430FR5729

Need help understanding the eUSCI ports for orderables. For MSP430FR5729 it mean I have 3 serial comms ports for the IC? Same logic would apply to MSP430FR5728 supporting 2 serial comms ports? Ultimately my customer is looking for an IC that has 3 comms: 2x SPI, 1x UART

  • Hi TJ,

There are two types of eUSCI, A and B.

The A type supports UART, SPI and IrDA.
The B type supports I2C and SPI.

    The FR5729 has (2)A and (1)B.
    The FR5728 has (1)A and (1)B.

If the customer is looking for (3) UARTS, neither one will work.

Do you know the specific type of communication interface they need?
