MSP430FR6037: Pin Confirmation

Part Number: MSP430FR6037

Hi Team,

I am looking at the MSP430FR603x datasheet and I notice that the pins 85, 87, 89 and 91 in figure 7.2 (page 10) has a different signal name and signal type in the table 7-1. Can you confirm that these pins should be power pins PVSS and pin 88 is PVCC as well?

Thank you.

Regards,

Marvin

  • Hi Marvin,

You may have already noticed that the package drawing for MSP430FR604xPZ on page 9 matches exactly with Table 7-1.

For MSP430FR603xPZ the only real difference here is that what would be the CHx_OUT or CHx_IN pins are instead DNC or VSS respectively. This is because the MSP430FR603xPZ does not have the same integrated USS module, so those CHx_OUT and CHx_IN pins do not serve those functions. It looks like the signal names in table 7-1 were set based on the 604xPZ instead, and it was left to the reader to make the connection based on the difference in functionality for the two device families.

The package drawing on page 10 is accurate for the 603xPZ, so follow those connections in layout and schematic, including the VSS/PVSS and VCC/PVCC connections for pins 85, 87, 89, and 91.

Please let me know if you have any more questions or need more clarification.

    Best Regards,
    Brandon Fisher
