MSP-TS430RGC64USB: Compatibility with MSP430F5504

Part Number: MSP-TS430RGC64USB

Hi Experts,

I can see that MSP430F5504 is the supported product of the MSP-TS430RGC64USB development board.

I am also aware that the MSP430F5504 is in the LQFP48 package while the socket of MSP-TS430RGC64USB is 64-pin QFN (RGC) ZIF.

Can you suggest any options on how to adapt the two devices?

    Hello Josel,

    Sorry for the confusion here. MSP-TS430RGC64USB is compatible with the MSP430F5504's parent device, and all other similar devices in that same package. It just so happens that MSP430F5504 is only available in 48-pin package, and thus not compatible with this board. If you want to evaluate the part, my suggestion is to utilize this board with an MSP430F5510 or MSP430F5509 device in the 64-pin RGC package. Please note the slight differences outlined in Table 3-1 in the datasheet. (Less memory and no comparators mainly).
