MSP430FR2533: Controller hangs after longer touch operation

Part Number: MSP430FR2533

Hello everyone,
We have a product which is based on the capacitive evaluation of the MSP430FR2533.
Recently we have noticed that the controller hangs when it is cool (approx. 5°C) and is triggered for longer than 2 min.
After an operation longer than 2 min, depending on the output setting, either no operation is detected anymore, or the operation is held permanently after release.
We also have the possibility to measure the sensitivity of the touch operation. In case of error, the sensitivity is 100% (after release).
In this case only a reset helps.

Strangely, this error does not occur when our product (the controller) is warmer (about 20°C).

Hence my questions:
Have you already had such experiences?
Do you have a guess why this happens only at a certain temperature?
Could it be due to the touch parameterization of the controller?

Many thanks in advance!

With kind regards
Dennis Diel

  • Hi Dennis,

Have you try ro record some data log in 5°C, maybe there are encounter too big capacitor change, when you power on,MCU will run calibration, thus you can find the touch function is normal. Datalog will help us to analysis this issue.

    Thanks!

    Best Regards

    Johnson
