EVM430-FR6047: Question about Part Specs

Part Number: EVM430-FR6047
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDM-1019

We are interested in knowing the specs of both the TIDM and EVM water flow meters available at Texas Instruments:

  1. Their Accuracy Class with respect to OIML R49 standard.
  2. Their dynamic range (R= Q3 / Q1).
  3. Permanent flow rate, minimum flow rate, overload flow rate, transitional flow rate…
  4. Is it connected to a battery? If so, how long is its life time?
  5. What does the LCD display, only the flow rate and consumption?
  6. Any alarms integrated?
  7. What flow cell sizes can be connected?
  8. Is accuracy affected when there are water bubbles passing through the pipe?
  9. Is accuracy affected is the temperature varies in the pipe?
  10. What is the temperature class of the meters?
  11. What is the operation temperature range?
  • Hi,

Most of your questions are related to the performance on a final product. Well, for TI, we only provided the MCU part of the final product. Customer can choose their own transducers and pipe for their product. So, the performance can be varies between customers. So, I will use general information to answer your questions.

    1. Class 1

    2. Generally R = 160. Some customers can reach R = 250.

    3. These depends on what pipe you are using, like DN15, DN20.

    4. A Lion battery is commonly used in the water meter. The life time depends on the battery capacity. You can find the average current consumption information in the TIDM-1019 document. And calculate the life time based on your battery capacity.

    5. Please refer to the TIDM-1019 document chapter 3.1.2.3.2

    6. Please refer to this link https://software-dl.ti.com/msp430/msp430_public_sw/mcu/msp430/USSSWLib/USSSWLibWater/02_40_00_00/exports/USSLib_02_40_00_00/docs/UserGuide/UserGuide/ch_errors.html

    7. No special limits on this one. The recommend sound path is >40mm.

    8. Yes. The bubbles in pipe will affect the accuracy.

    9. It depends.

    10. T30. T50 may need extra flow rate calibration at high temperature.

    11. For water meter, we tested under 5 degC to 85 degC. More test information in the TIDM-1019 document.

    Best regards,
