Hi
My customer is asking why smart water meters we are using MSP430FR6047 and Smart Gas Meters we are using MSP430FR6043 ?
any design consideration inside it ?
or both MSP430FR6043 and MSP430FR6047 can be use for smart water meters and Smart Gas Meters applications ? thanks!
Hi,
Only MSP430FR6043 series can be used for gas meter application.
The MSP430FR6043 series and MSP430FR6047 series can both used for water meter application.

The USS module is designed for analog-to-digital (ADC) converter based ultrasonic sensing technology in various measurement applications. The USS is a sophisticated system that consists of the following four submodules. USS_A is an extended variant of the original USS module and features SAPH_A instead of the SAPH module. Because USS_A is a superset of USS, USS_A is specifically named only when describing feature that differ between USS and USS_A.
Here are the main devices integrated with the USS module. The major differences between them are listed in the below table. For more details, please refer to the device datasheet and UG.
