MSP430F5328: development tool

Part Number: MSP430F5328
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP-TS430PN80A, MSP430F5329

Hi team, we are looking at using the MSP430F5328 in 64-pin package.

TI website shows MSP-TS430PN80A as support / development tool for MSP430F5328 but this does only supports the 80 pin QFP – like MSP430F5329 not the 5328.

There are MSP-TS430RGC64x QFN based tools but they do not list MSP430F5328 support.

What platform do we use to develop on the MSP430F5328 (64-pin VQFN)

  • Hi Kannan,

When you have chosen the 64 pin package of the device for your design, we do recommend that you prototype using the superset 80 pin part, and only utilize the pins that are present on the 64 pin device. The functionality on those 64 pins will be the same as the functionality on the 64 pin device that you would actually use for production. So I'd recommend that you use the tool recommended by the TI website in the fashion described above for prototyping.
